* Long tem commitment and targets

Visualising  a country without water shortage.’  For this building systems, helping farmers understand catchment areas analysis so that farmers can take complete charge of water resources by harvesting rainwater, conserving, saving and utilising properly self-sufficiency and optimum agricultural produce.

I also propagate the idea of farmers should be involved in farming activities all through the year and inducing professionals in the farming sector. I also foresee that the farmers should be working like the professionals for about 8 to 10 hours in various sectors of the farm field. I want to see that the agricultural methods to cultivate using water clogging methods should be replaced by water conserving and minimizing water usage methods. This is the only possible alternative method to save water in agriculture.

The problem I am facing to implement the idea is the simplicity of the idea and low cost methodology itself. The psyche of the people is to look out for big structures and cost intensive methods thinking that it reaps a big result. Some time even the Government believes so. The corporates look all around at international level to get costly ideas than picking up simple and low cost methods available locally. Some times even common people propagate that rainwater is not safe and contra to it (sic) that all the rainwater is put into the aquifer the sea and the oceans go dry!  The lack of knowledge and capacity to appreciate the idea is the biggest hurdle than finding financial resources.

Now I am moving from my small village to the distinct and state level. I have reached the idea to the4 national level. Yes all these are in pockets. The whole idea has to become a movement. For making this in to a movement I am fostering river conservation projects (e.g. River Arkavathi basin development). The idea is now entering school curriculum, using the mass media to reach the people as well organsing local level seminars, demonstrations, workshops on water issues

The most tangible plan is building a band of volunteers and professionsl to reach out every noon and corner of the state/nation to spread the idea of water conservation and ground water recharging. The other tool is in creating a group of convinced peoples representatives at the state and national level-the MLAs (Member of Legislative Assembly )and MP (Member of Parliament) to take on the cause of water in the legislature and lobby for water at the Government level.

Religion plays a major role in the Indian Sub continent. Several religious leaders are being contacted to take water issues (non political, non religious, non-sectoral and non threatening) as one of the programmes and concept to be accepted along with their religious messages. In the next phase I am proposing to take on a campaign to get water management rights to the people, i.e., government should not have the authority. Water should be an issue of the people, for the people and by the people.
